The Dr. Martens Lowell is back.
Not for the first time at Baskèts, but once again as one of our favourite models within the Dr. Martens collection. Originally sourced from the brand’s extensive archives, the Lowell made its return last year. What began as a quiet reintroduction has grown into a silhouette we continue to revisit.
This season, the Lowell arrives in a strong mix of textures and finishes. From the polished depth of the Cherry Red Lacquered Leather, to the distinctive surface of the Olive Green Pebble Emboss Hair On, and the understated softness of the Dusty Rose Milled Nubuck WP.To celebrate the launch, we visited Robin Kapitein at his studio in Amsterdam Noord. Robin began his career as a painter but became captivated by traditional stained glass encountered on-site. What started as a small personal project evolved into a full-scale studio practice.
For our Jordaan store, Robin created a custom stained-glass installation specifically for this release. Seeing him work made the collaboration feel natural. The way he handles and assembles glass - carefully, intentionally - reflects the construction of the Lowell.For both the maker and the brand, it’s about finish. About craft. About character.
