We are looking for a Human Resources Officer to build and run the complete HR function for Schiphol over the next seven months. This is not a role for a staffing agency taking over the project. We need someone who takes ownership and drives it forward.

The first phase is all about building: creating a working recruitment pipeline, getting the team ready for opening and setting up all administrative systems properly. The next phase is about embedding these processes: managing contracts, coordinating Schiphol onboarding and providing day-to-day HR support for a new team at an airport with its own rules and procedures.

You work closely with the Retail Manager and F&B Manager and report directly to the management team.

What you will do

Hiring and onboarding

• You support the hiring and recruitment phase by screening candidates, scheduling interviews and staying in contact with applicants.
• You guide every new employee through the Schiphol approval process, including the Schiphol pass application, security screening and airport onboarding.
• You track everyone's progress and make sure no one falls behind ahead of the opening.

HR administration

• You prepare employment contracts and process contract extensions.
• You manage payroll administration in collaboration with the accountant.
• You set up the HR systems, including the recruitment pipeline in Notion.
• You are the first point of contact for employees with practical HR questions.

What you bring

• At least three years of relevant HR or recruitment experience, preferably in retail, hospitality or a similar environment.
• You are used to working independently. You do not wait for a handbook, you write it yourself.
• Strong organisational skills. You can manage several processes at once without letting anything slip.
• An affinity with the world of Baskèts: premium retail, fashion, experience and high standards of service.
• You live in or around Amsterdam.
• You are available full-time, at least until the end of March 2027.

As Assistant Store Manager, you are the Retail Manager's right hand at Schiphol. You lead the team day to day, keep operations running smoothly and work on the shop floor alongside them. You know the brands we curate and understand how to give travellers relevant advice, even when they only have half an hour. You are the second face of Baskèts at Schiphol and the first point of contact when the Retail Manager is absent.

What you will do

Team and operations

• You lead the Sales Advisors on the shop floor.
• You run daily briefings, contribute to staff planning and keep the team focused.
• You monitor the quality of customer interactions and step in when necessary.

Sales and customer experience

• You actively advise travellers on the shop floor.
• You work with an international customer base. You are comfortable speaking English and preferably another language as well.
• You identify opportunities and turn them into sales.

Store presentation and logistics

• You take overall responsibility for visual merchandising and ensure the store is always presentable.
• You process incoming deliveries, manage the stockroom and initiate internal stock transfers.

Opening

• You are involved from day one. Contributing to the store set-up, fit-out and first months of operation is part of the role.

What you bring

• At least three years of relevant retail experience, preferably in fashion or lifestyle.
• Previous experience leading a team. This may have been in a formal or informal capacity, but you understand what it involves.
• An affinity with the world of Baskèts: sneakers, premium brands and styling advice.
• You live in Amsterdam, Haarlemmermeer, Hoofddorp or Badhoevedorp.
• You are willing to undergo a security screening for a Schiphol pass. This is mandatory for everyone working at the airport.
• You are available for at least 32 hours per week, including weekends and potentially early or late shifts.

• Experience in retail or hospitality is a plus.

• You are available to work between 8 and 40 hours per week, including weekends and early or late shifts.
