Baskèts' interpretation of the Salomon x Carhartt WIP collab

Salomon
Their passion for outdoor sports, innovative technology and craftsmanship started all the way back in 1947. This is when the Salomon family opened the doors of their 'wood saws and ski edges’ shop in Annecy (France), for the very first time. Imagination, diversity, commitment and simplicity has driven them to create gear, you can freely enjoy and challenge yourself with in the great outdoors. Thats why the mission they spread is: Don’t wait any longer, now it’s time to play.

Carhartt WIP
Established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) developed its own collection based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand matches authentic adaptions of robust American archetypes with subcultures that have embraced and welcomed it. Striving towards being authentic and classic, while honouring heritage and workwear, Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and today the brand made sure that they operate in over 80 locations worldwide.

Shelter CSWP boot

Carhartt WIP and Salomon joined forces on the new Shelter boot. The boot mirrors that of the technical know-how and performance qualities from French brand Salomon, combining them with the distinct aesthetic Carhartt WIP is known for.The Shelter CSWP boot is 100% waterproof and the light insulation keeps you warm in cold and wet conditions. The lightweight stability and enhanced grip ensures you’re protected in the most extreme conditions and the black, phantom and castor grey colour-palette keeps you camouflaged in every situation.

The ultimate test

Baskèts would not be praising this boot if we did not put them to the ultimate test ourselves. Therefore, we took the time to take the boots to a forest for some outdoor quad activities during the cold Dutch winter. Here, we tested the technical know-how and performance qualities of the Shelter CSWP boot. The water proof protection and light isolation kept us warm and dry while the enhanced grip and lightweight stability made sure we had support on the wet and slippery slopes. The Shelter CSWP boot is a great example of two technical brands creating a product in true synergy. Do you want your own pair? Click here to go to our webshop.
