Reworking School Days Through Real -Life Wear

adidas x Song For The Mute

May 2026 adidas Originals and Song for the Mute return for their seventh collaboration, inspired by the charm of mismatched childhood uniforms, hand-me-downs, worn school shoes, and the instinctive style of youth. Practical, playful, and imperfect.

The footwear revisits familiar school-day references. The reworked TOKYO draws from vintage gym shoes, featuring lightweight nylon and mesh uppers, elasticated heels, paint-splattered suede overlays, and distressed outsoles that evoke years of movement and play. In contrast, the SAMBA LX FREIZEIT takes cues from classic school shoes, crafted in structured leather with protective taped detailing and off-white suede three-stripes.

The apparel continues the narrative through layered, lived-in pieces, softened track jackets with plaid inserts, mismatched rugby shirts, aged graphic tees, sports shorts, and school trousers. The palette combines washed greys, faded blues, muted browns, and chalky neutrals for a nostalgic, worn-in feel.

Accessories include a washed cotton cap and a scuffed canvas tote, both designed to feel used, personal, and familiar.

Shot by creative collaborators Stephen Mann, Ethan, and Tom, the campaign captures quiet suburban interiors and unguarded moments, reflecting the same raw, instinctive energy found throughout the collection.
