adidas Art Instalments VOL. 4: the adidas Superstar 82 creatively presented by Casper Bijmans

For Vol. 4 of our Originals Art Instalments project we dive into the world of photographer Casper Bijmans, whose fascination for the camera evolved into a lifelong passion.

Casper’s love for cars was the original spark, starting with childhood memories of sitting in his father’s Land Cruiser in Portugal. By the time he was 14, he was capturing every detail of the world around him with a camcorder, often featuring cars as his subjects. "My dad always had old cameras around, and I’d experiment with them," Casper recalls. "It’s the nostalgic feeling that drew me in; photography isn’t just an image—it’s a memory frozen in time."

Casper’s creative journey took a defining turn in 2016 when he secured his first paid gig. "It was a Drum and Bass event," he laughs. "That was when I realised I could do what I love and get paid for it." From there, his work took off, with businesses and car enthusiasts seeking him out for his unique perspective. His style, heavily influenced by late ‘90s and early 2000s fashion and lifestyle campaigns, brings together bold colours and nostalgic textures that breathe life into every photo. "I draw a lot from Glen Luchford’s and Jürgen Teller’s work. Those campaigns weren’t just visuals—they had an attitude, a story. I try to bring that same feeling to my automotive photography," he explains.

More than just cars, Casper sees his photography as a canvas for storytelling. He captures a moment, an atmosphere, a sense of time. “I want people to see that cars are more than just vehicles,” he says. “They’re an extension of personality and memory.” His images balance raw, unrefined elements with classic aesthetics, blurring the lines between machine and emotion. Each shot captures motion, creating a sense of speed that resonates with the personality of his subjects. "A car isn’t just an object in my photos; it’s alive."

Casper’s recent work for our Originals Art Instalments project, in collaboration with adidas, focuses on the new Superstar release and challenged him in exciting new ways. "I wanted to combine my experience with fashion and automotive photography, something I’ve always been eager to do," he shares. "The creative freedom was incredible, but it meant finding my focus. I pushed through different concepts before I found the one that felt right." The project allowed him to explore his vision with a brand that shares his love for blending heritage with contemporary style.Staying inspired, Casper draws from past eras rather than current trends. "I try not to look at what everyone else is doing now," he explains. "Photography feels so sterile today. I want my work to bring back that sense of feeling and nostalgia." Fashion and style have always been essential in his work, shaping the aesthetic of his photos with a touch of classic yet raw elegance. His shoots are immersive, capturing scenes that invite viewers to feel the moment rather than just see it.

Casper hopes his photography resonates with audiences on a personal level. "I want people to feel that sense of adventure or nostalgia when they see my photos," he says. "For many, a car can represent a memory, a journey, a feeling. It’s more than a machine—it’s a story."

Through his work, Casper brings the past into the present, inviting each viewer to experience the emotion and personality behind every frame. The new adidas Superstar revives as an icon from the 90’s, and its legendary silhouette is crafted with a premium leather upper and the well know Superstar shell-toe.

For Casper, the sneaker is a perfect addition to his rotation “I would describe my personal style as a mix of raw, unrefined elements with a classic look, something that the Superstar perfectly represents.”
