Valerio meets Puma Clyde Og

The first Puma Clyde appeared in the early 70’s and quickly became one of the most iconic styles released by Puma. Named after New York Knicks legendary basketball player Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, who approached Puma for a custom pair. It’s an old school-inspired shoe that combines fashion, culture and basketball heritage while staying true to its brands roots. Like the original pair, this new model reassures confidence and style with minimalist design and clean lines. Featuring a full suede upper and gold foiled Puma branding on the side in three retro colourways.

This year the iconic silhouette exists 50 years and we celebrated this with Dutch TV host Valerio Zeno who is known for his love for authentic footwear. The Puma Clydes first came into his life about 15 years ago. He started with the black and white shoes, followed by the dark blue ones that have now been re-released and in no time he had them in many colour combinations. ''The design is simple that’s why it’s so strong'', Valerio says. ''Good execution of OG’s makes you wonder why they were gone in the first place. It is not without reason that it is a classic that can also be worn under any outfit. Whether you go for jeans, chinos or under trousers.'' Valerio his taste in sneakers changes slightly every few years, but his love for the OG's always remains. Check out our shoot and get your own Clyde OG's at Baskèts.
