A day on Texel with ASICS

To celebrate the ASICS GEL-TRANSCEND FJ, we left Amsterdam behind and headed to Texel for a day shaped by movement and the outdoors. Inspired by ASICS’ Sound Mind, Sound Body philosophy, the trip brought together a small group of eight guests for a day of exploring the island, sharing good food and experiencing the landscape together.
Our day started out on the Wadden Sea, where we picked our own oysters before sitting down for a special food experience on the island. After lunch, we continued along the dike before heading into the forest, where our guide showed us some of Texel’s more unusual natural features. As the day came to an end, we gathered around a fire, taking a moment to slow down and enjoy the setting.
At the centre of the day was the GEL-TRANSCEND FJ. Drawing inspiration from ASICS hiking and walking shoes of the ’90s, the silhouette brings archival outdoor references into an everyday design. Elements from iconic ASICS models come together across the upper, creating a layered look, while the rugged midsole takes inspiration from trailrunning footwear.
Finished in both Ash Green Graphite Grey and Black Coffee Graphite Grey the GEL-TRANSCEND FJ combines muted tones with textured details and a bold sole. Its outdoor roots feel right at home on the island, while the everyday silhouette makes it just as easy to take back into the city.
