The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on the 1st April 1960. Throughout Dr. Martens history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by diverse individuals, musicians, youth cultures and tribes. These are the people who stand out from the crowd and their journey of self-expression has always been accompanied by a pair of DM’s.
For this shoot, we chose to spend a day with Lucien and Abel. They can be seen navigating through Dutch waters with the sun on their faces, the wind in their hair and a pair of Dr. Martens on their feet. The song in the background ‘Aan de Amsterdamse Grachten’ by Wim Sonneveld and mixed by Ronnie Verbiest is one of the most iconic Dutch songs about Amsterdam. It’s a true homage to Amsterdam which describes the beauty of the city and its many canals.
On a bright summer day like this one, Dr. Martens proves yet again that their shoes are the perfect combination of style and comfort. Going for a look that is both slick and chic? Then you can’t go wrong with the ‘Adrian’ loafer. Going for a slightly edgier look? Stand out from the crowd with the ‘Jorge’ sandal. These slip-on mules are handcrafted in the UK and offer DM’s signature comfort, durability and attitude. Discover the entire collection now at Baskèts.
