Heritage & Philosophy

Founded in 2012 in Oslo by action-sports athletes Truls Brataas and Jon Olsson, DB Journey (formerly Douchebags) emerged to redefine travel gear for modern adventurers. Inspired by a 2009 prototype ski bag, the founders combined practical insight with Scandinavian minimalism to create products that feel intuitive, durable and effortlessly stylish.

DB Journey’s designs center on functional innovation and lasting quality. The patented hook‑up system transfers weight to wheels instead of your back, while modular packing solutions, compressible duffels, camera inserts and board sleeves, adapt to diverse journeys. Materials include high‑density recycled fabrics, weatherproof zippers and reinforced seam‑taping, all subjected to rigorous design‑to‑manufacture testing for intuitive ease of use.

Brand Vision & Evolution

Guided by a commitment to sustainability, DB Journey became the first Norwegian travel brand to earn B Corp certification, pledging to extend product lifetimes and reduce environmental impact through circular design. The label continues to expand its range, venturing into surf, photography and lifestyle categories, while fostering a global community of “journeyers” via collaborative storytelling and interactive digital lookbooks.
